The Most Knowledgeable and Articulate Tour Guide
Nick was the most knowledgeable and articulate tour guide my wife and I have ever had anywhere, and we’ve traveled lot. We had never been in Charleston before. He gave us the most comprehensive overview of the city and answered every question we had. His depth of knowledge is extensive. What’s more, he told us the history behind every landmark and made suggestions of what to tour in more detail. He also recommended great restaurants and what dishes to try at every one. He scored 100% on every tip he gave us. Ours was a private tour which I highly recommend. The vehicle was roomy and comfortable. He anticipated our every need. I have medical issues that he accommodated in every way to make sure I was comfortable. You simply cannot find a better person to show you Charleston. I couldn’t give Nick a higher recommendation.

Matt was our tour operator/ guide and not only did we get an amazing history lesson on our way to and from the plantation, Matt was extremely generous with his time and extended our planned tour time and took us all through downtown, stopping to share even more history of not only Charleston and the historical buildings, but the families and individuals who were integral in shaping the history of our country.

A Great Experience
My husband and I booked a tour with Chicora Tours for the Drayton Hall Tour. Our tour guide was Nick. It was just me and my husband in this tour. Nick picked us up at the hotel we were staying. Nick was fabulous. He showed us around the property and is very knowledgeable about the history of this plantation. Drayton Hall was beautiful. We enjoyed learning the history of this place. Overall this was a great experience.
A Great Overview with Deeper Stories
We recently took a private tour of Charleston, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about Nick. He was incredibly knowledgeable and one of the best guides we’ve ever had. Since this was our first time visiting the city, we really appreciated how he gave us such a great overview while also sharing the deeper stories behind the history and landmarks.
Nick answered all our questions with ease and even went off the usual route to show us another part of town that isn’t typically included on the tour—which we loved. The vehicle was spacious and very comfortable, and having it be a private tour made the experience even better. If you’re planning to explore Charleston, I truly can’t recommend Nick highly enough. We were visiting family down in Charleston and had an incredible time with Chicora Tours. We did a driving ghost tour with Nick and Darian, who were very personable and knowledgeable about the history of downtown. The company van is very spacious, comfortable and accommodating of sizeable groups.
